Thursday, February 6, 2014

The Pike County EMA has informed us that we might be dealing with some more wintry precipitation tomorrow afternoon from around 3pm until 9pm.  The precipitation will likely begin as rain and transition to a wet snow.  No ice is expected with this event.

As of now, the school day will commence as scheduled, beginning at 8am and continuing until 2:58pm.  If weather becomes a concern as the day progresses, a determination will be made at that time as to the rest of the day and beyond.

Please watch your emails and continue to monitor the announcements page of the website for further communications regarding this weather event.

Thank you for your kind understanding and cooperation in this matter.

Mrs. Sikes

At the board meeting on Monday, February 3, 2014, Mrs. Sikes read her letter of resignation effective May 30, 2014, in order for her to pursue another opportunity.  There will be no change in the normal school routine as the board enters into a selection process for her replacement.  Mrs. Sikes has been a part of the Pike Liberal Arts Family for 8 years and we appreciate her hard work and dedication to our school.  Pike Liberal Arts is a better place for her efforts and we wish her good luck in the future.
