IMPORTANT: Change of Dates

We will be taking Monday, January 2, as a holiday which means we will return to classes from Christmas break on Tuesday, January 3.  To make up the missed day on January 2, we will attend school on President's Day, Monday, February 20.

We are making this change because of the many requests to be off for bowl games and travel.  We have no extra days built into our schedule and the board voted to make the change as stated.

We will also change the Elementary Honors Day that is scheduled for Wednesday, January 4, to Friday, January 6.

Thank you as always, for supporting your children and our school.

Neverthirst Campaign

Dear Pike Families:

The Neverthirst Campaign is under way at Pike and we have heard so many positive and encouraging things the students have shared with their parents!!  Thank you all for your support thus far...we are all excited to see how God works through the school to extend compassion to the ends of the earth!  Pike's fundraising campaign for Neverthirst ends 10/3 and we hope the students continue to add money to their buckets in their classrooms!

My family has been involved with Neverthirst over the past few years and we have had the opportunity to provide clean water wells in India through Neverthirst.  We recently received our completed report for our 2015 well and I wanted to share with all of you so you could see how real Neverthirst is and the opportunity it provides for your children and yourselves to be a part of furthering God's kingdom.  Upon completion of every single well, the donors receive a report similar to the report included below.  I can't wait to see and share the report(s) from the well(s) provided through our campaign efforts at Pike Liberal Arts School!!!

Truly,

Candace Nelson

Monday

Grandparent's Day

Grandparent's Day is scheduled for Friday, September 9.  Due to an increase in enrollment, we will have three programs to accommodate our grandparents for grades K4 through 6th in the cafetorium.  This change has been reflected on the school calendar.

This is a time for children to invite grandparents, godparents, or a special visitor.  Unfortunately, we do not have the space for our parents; therefore, we reserve this program for grandparents and special visitors only.

The first program for K4 through 2nd Grades will begin at 8:30 am.  The second program for 3rd and 4th Grades will begin at 10:15 am.  The third and final program for 5th and 6th Grades will begin at 1:00 pm.

After each program, the grandparents will be invited to visit the book fair.  All elementary teachers have a wish list in the library if anyone would like to purchase books for the classroom.

Please understand that children MAY check out with their grandparents or special visitors but that teachers will be on campus until 3:15 pm.  Therefore, checking out is not a requirement, only an option for this special day, and any student left at school will have something to do.

Also, please help us to emphasize that this is a regular school day for grades 7-12 and checking out is not an option for these students.

Tuition and Fees

Dear Parents:

The 2015-2016 school year is quickly coming to an end and we are looking ahead to the 2016-2017 year.  May 31st is the end of our fiscal year and like every other "business" we must get our accounts current so that we can close this year and properly plan for the coming year.

Graduation is set for May 19 and it is the last day of school; therefore, we have set the following due dates for payments of all tuition, fees, and other charges.

Graduating seniors must have all family tuition and fees paid in full by Monday, May 9, in order to participate in graduation and receive their diplomas.

All other students must have all tuition and fees paid in full by Monday, May 16th.

Sincerely,

Finance Committee

Message about Prom

April 5, 2016

Dear Parents:

In order to manage the crowd and make the senior prom lead out more visible, as well as safe for everyone attending, we have implemented some changes this year.  Please understand that it is necessary to make these changes as it has become impossible to move around, not to mention be able to see much of anything, in the cafetorium in recent years.  Hopefully, this will be a solution that will give each couple a time to shine and give parents and guests a better view of the children.

The cafetorium will be open for everyone to come and look and take pre-prom pictures beginning at 5:00 pm.  The lead out will begin at 7:00 pm.  The seniors will begin from the main doors of the old building and walk out to the sidewalk, down the sidewalk and stairs, and enter the elementary end side door.  They will continue down the elementary hall until they enter the lower door of the cafetorium and then onto the stage where they will be introduced.

Everyone will be asked to exit the cafetorium at 6:45 pm.  There will be places out in front of the old building and inside the elementary hall to view each couple and take additional pictures as they walk to the cafetorium.  Each senior will be given tickets so that their parents and/or stepparents can reenter the cafetorium if they choose.  Only these people with tickets will be able to reenter the cafetorium.

Keep in mind that when the band begins to play, it will be time for all to leave the cafetorium so that the students can enjoy their prom.

Also, there will be no parking in front of the old building.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Sincerely,

Becky Baggett
Headmaster
